This study was planned to find novel indigenous Entomopathogenic Nematodes (EPN) in agricultural soils . one isolate did not show a high recorded in the database of the Gene Bank and hence was identified as a new Heterorhabditis species and was deposited at the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) and registered with an accession no. (OP555450) under the name of Heterorhabditis alii. Moreover, virulence of this new EPN species against the fall armyworm was tested in comparison to the foreign EPN species, Heterorhabditis bacteriophora (HP88) and the local Heterorhabditis indica (Mango 2 isolate)
تم عزل خمس سلالات من النيماتودا الممرضة للحشرات من عينات التربة. تم إكتشاف عزلة منهم إنها غير موجودة في قاعدة بيانات بنك الجينات، وبالتالي تم تحديدها على أنها نوع جديد من Heterorhabditis وتم تسجليها تحت رقم (OP555450) تحت اسم Heterorhabditis alii وتم عمل التوصيف المورفولوجي. وتم اختبار كفاءة هذا النوع الجديد ضد دودة الحشد بالمقارنة مع نوع أجنبي مثل Heterorhabditis bacteriophora HP88)) و نوع محلي وهو (Heterorhabditis indica Mango 2 isolate) وأثبت النوع الجديد أنه الأكثر فعالية من بين الانواع الثلاثة.
