Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) -Cairo University, 2024. Summary: This study was carried out to evaluate the internal fit and marginal integrity (vertical marginal gap) of monolithic zirconia crowns sintered with two different sintering protocols and designed with two different finish line thicknesses. According to the sample size calculation, a total of thirty-two zirconia crowns were constructed on two metal dies with two different finish line thicknesses Chamfer finish line with 0.5 mm thickness and chamfer finish line with 0.2 mm thickness. Each metal die was scanned using an intraoral scanner (Primescan) and CEREC Software was used to design the crowns and give the milling order to the chairside milling machine (Primemill) to mill all the crowns. After milling all the 32 crowns, each group (n=16) was divided into two subgroups; conventional sintering protocol using (Tegra speed furnace) and high-speed sintering protocol using (CEREC SpeedFire furnace). Then, after sintering and polishing the crowns, the Triple scan protocol was utilized to assess the internal fit of the crowns by scanning each crown internally and scanning the die and scanning the crown seated on the die, then all the three scans are aligned over each other using the Geomagic control software with ‘best fit alignment feature’ and measure the internal fit with the root mean square. The vertical marginal gap was measured using a stereomicroscope (L2 Leica microscope) at 25 X magnification. The crowns were held in a special tacking platform seated on the corresponding die. The measurements were in micrometer. The data obtained were collected, tabulated and subjected to statistical analysis.

This study was carried out to evaluate the internal fit and marginal integrity (vertical marginal gap) of monolithic zirconia crowns sintered with two different sintering protocols and designed with two different finish line thicknesses.
According to the sample size calculation, a total of thirty-two zirconia crowns were constructed on two metal dies with two different finish line thicknesses
Chamfer finish line with 0.5 mm thickness and chamfer finish line with 0.2 mm thickness.
