يناقش هذا البحث واحدة من أهم المناطق تميزا في المدن؛ ألا وهي الفراغات الترفيهية المفتوحة المواجهة للنهر والتي تلعب أدوارًا مهمة في تعزيز التفاعل بين الإنسان والنهر ويؤثر تصميمها بشكل كبير علي احتياجات المستخدمين، فبدأت الدول والمخططين في تحسين هذه المواقع وظهرت مشاريع إعادة التأهيل وأصبح من أهم الأهداف المشتركة لها هي تحسين الاتصال الاجتماعي للأنهار وإنشاء فراغات مفتوحة، فظهرت العديد من المناقشات حول تطويرها وأصبح تقييم حيويتها من أولويات الدراسات في السنوات الأخيرة، ومن ثم يهدف البحث إلي طرح بعض الخطوط الإرشادية لتفعيل دور هذه الفراغات من خلال وضع منظومة من المؤشرات التصميمية التي تضمن توافق هذه الفراغات النهرية الترفيهية المفتوحة مع احتياجات المستخدمين بها وتحقيق أفضل استغلال ممكن لمميزاتها.

This research discuss one of the most important and distinguish area of the cities; The open recreational spaces facing the river, which play important roles in enhancing interactions between man and the river, and their design greatly affects the needs of users, so countries and planners began to improve these sites, and rehabilitation projects appeared, and one of the most important common goals is to improve The social contact of rivers and the creation of open spaces, so many discussions emerged about their development, and evaluating their vitality became one of the priorities of studies in recent years, Then the research aims to put forward some guidelines to activate the role of these spaces by developing a system of design indicators that ensure the compatibility of these open recreational river spaces with the needs of their users and to achieve the best possible use of their advantages.
