Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of lymphatic drainage after cryolipolysis on subcutaneous abdominal fat in post-menopausal obesity. Subjects and Methods: Fifty postmenopausal women suffering from abdominal adiposity (central obesity) were participated in this study, their age ranged from 50 – 55 years with body mass index (BMI) between 35 – 40 kg/m2 and their waist/ hip ratio was >0.88. They were assigned randomly into two groups of equal number; study group (A) and control group (B). Study group (A) received cryolypolsis and lymphatic drainage during the treatment course for 12 weeks while control group (B) received cryolypolsis only during the treatment course for 12 weeks. The participated women in this study were assessed by lipids profile (Total cholesterol (TC), High density lipoprotein (HDL), Low density lipoprotein (LDL) and Triglyceride (TG)), skinfold and anthropometric measurements (body circumferences (waist and hip) and waist/hip ratio). Results: The obtained results revealed significant differences of all measured variables after treatment within the two groups.While between groups there was statistical significant difference in post-treatment values of all measured variables with favor of the study group (A). Conclusion: Lymphatic drainage after cryolipolysis with positive effects on subcutaneous abdominal fat and the lymphatic drainage with cryolipolysis is more effective than cryolipolysis alone on subcutaneous abdominal fat and lipid profile in post-menopausal obesity

الهدف: أجريت هذه الدراسة لتحديد تأثير التصريف الليمفاوي بعد إذابة الدهون بالتبريد على سمنة البطن لدى السيدات بعد انقطاع الطمث. الأشخاص وطرق البحث: اشترك في هذه الدراسة خمسون سيدة بعد انقطاع الطمث و اللاتي تعانين من السمنة في منطقة البطن (سمنة مركزية) حيث تتراوح أعمارهن ما بين 50 – 55 عاما و متوسط الكتلة لديهن تتراوح بين 35 –40 كجم/م2 و نسبة الخصر / الورك اكبر من 0.88تم تقسيمهن عشوائيا إلى مجموعتان متساويين في العدد; مجموعة الدراسة (أ) و مجموعة الضابطة (ب). مجموعة الدراسة (أ) تم علاجهن إذابة الدهون بالتبريد و التصريف الليمفاوي بينما مجموعة الضابطة (ب) تم علاجهن بإذابة الدهون بالتبريد تم تقييم المشاركات في هذه الدراسة من خلال ملف تعريف الدهون (الكوليسترول الكلي والبروتين الدهني عالي الكثافة والبروتين الدهني منخفض الكثافة والدهون الثلاثية) وقياسات ثنية الجلد والقياسات البشرية (محيط الجسم (الخصر والورك) ونسبة الخصر / الورك(.
النتائج: أظهرت النتائج وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية لجميع المتغيرات بعد العلاج للمجموعتين. كما أظهرت النتائج وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في القيم المتوسطة اللاحقة لجميع المتغيرات بعد العلاج عند المقارنة بين المجموعتين لصالح مجموعة الدراسة (أ). الإستنتاج: التصريف الليمفاوي بعد إذابة الدهون بالتبريد له تأثيرات ايجابية على سمنة البطن والتصريف الليمفاوي مع إذابة الدهون بالتبريد أكثر من إذابة الدهون بالتبريد فقط.
