إن مشهد الأعمال اليوم ليس هو نفسه الذي كان عليه قبل بضع سنوات، وهذا له تأثير على كيفيَّة تفاعل المنظمات مع المجتمع والتغيرات داخل منظماتهم. على مدار العقود القليلة الماضيَّة، واجهت المنظمات العديد من التحديات، ومع ذلك، ربما تكون المخاوف البيئيَّة هي أهمها في الوقت الحالي. ومن ثم، اكتسبت فكرة استدامة الأعمال شعبيَّة كبيرة وتمت مناقشتها على نطاق واسع بين المنظمات في جميع أنحاء العالم، خاصة في ظل التوجه لمنظمات الأعمال كأحد المصادر الرئيسيَّة لتمويل أهداف التنمية المستدامة. تمثل هدف الدراسة في فحص أثر ممارسات استدامة الأعمال الموجهة (للعملاء، المجتمع، والبيئة، والعاملين) على الأداء المستدام ببعديه (البيئي والاجتماعي) للشركات المدرجة بمؤشر S&P/ EGX ESG، واعتمد على الاستبيان وفقًا لمقياس ليكرت الخماسي في جمع البيانات من عينة عشوائيَّة طبقيَّة مكونة من 250 مفردة من مديري الإدارة العليا والوسطى بعدد من شركات المؤشر والبالغ عددها 23 شركة، وبلغت عدد الاستبيانات الصالحة للتحليل 228 استبانة من تم تجميعها من 21 شركة. توصلت الدراسة إلى أنَّ هناك تأثير جزئي لتطبيق ممارسات استدامة الأعمال على الأداء المستدام، حيث أن هناك تأثير معنوي ذو دلالة إحصائية لتطبيق ممارسات استدامة الأعمال الموجهة للعملاء والعاملين على الأداء البيئي، ولكن لا يوجد هذا التأثير لتطبيق ممارسات الاستدامة الموجهة للمجتمع والبيئة. كما أشارت النتائج إلى وجود تأثير معنوي ذو دلالة إحصائية لتطبيق ممارسات الاستدامة الموجهة للعملاء والبيئة على الأداء الاجتماعي، في حين لم تظهر وجود تأثير لتطبيق ممارسات الاستدامة الموجهة للمجتمع والعاملين على الأداء الاجتماعي.

The business world has changed in recent years, affecting how organizations interact with society and how leaders understand their own companies. Environmental concerns are now a major challenge for organizations, leading to a widespread interest in sustainable business practices. This is particularly relevant as businesses are increasingly seen as a source of funding for sustainable development goals.
The objective of the study was to examine the impact of business sustainability practices directed towards (customers, society, the environment, and employees) on the sustainable performance in its two dimensions (environmental and social) of the companies listed in the S&P/EGX ESG index. The study relied on a questionnaire based on the five-point Likert scale to collect data from a stratified random sample of 250 individuals, consisting of senior and middle management from 23 companies in the index. The number of valid questionnaires for analysis was 228, collected from 21 companies.
The study revealed that implementing sustainable business practices had a partial significant impact on sustainable performance, as there is a statistically significant impact of applying business sustainability practices oriented to customers and employees on environmental performance, but there is no such impact for applying sustainability practices oriented to society and the environment. The results also indicated that there is a statistically significant impact of applying customer- and environment-oriented sustainability practices on social performance, while there is no effect of applying community- and employee-oriented sustainability practices on social performance.
