صنَّف هذا البحث العلل الفارقة في مقدمة، وتمهيد، وخمسة فصول: في التمهيد تناول معنى التعليل النحوي، وتقسيمات العلل، وشروط صحتها، ثم تطرّق إلى معنى علة الفرق، وذِكْر النحاة لها. ثم ناقش البحث في فصله الأول تنويع الحركاتِ في الأبنيةِ المتشابهة، مثل: اللامات، وحركات همزة القطع، وألف الوصل، وحركة تاء التأنيث وسكونها، ومدى كون الحركة فارقةً في باب الأفعال من حيث التعدي واللزوم، والتمام والنقصان، وفي باب الأفعال الرباعية، وتنويع حركاتِ البناء في تاء (لات)، وكذا الفرق بين (أن) و(أنا)، وفي باب المضارع المؤكد بالنون، وفي باب الأسماء، وكذلك تنويع علامات الإعراب، مبينا كيف كان لتنويع العلامة الإعرابية أثرها الفارق؟. وقد عالج الفصل الثاني (الزيادة والحذف)، وتناول الزيادة بالتنوين والتضعيف وغيرها، بوصفها عللا فارقة، كما ناقش الزيادات الكتابية التي لجأ إليه الفكر النحوي؛ لإحداث الفرق، أما جانب الحذف فنوقشت تحتَه مواضعُ الحذف إذا كانت بعلل فارقة. وقد ناقش الفصل الثالث الفرق عن طريقِ التقليباتِ الصرفيةِ، وتناول الفرق عن طريق إجراءِ قاعدةٍ صرفيةٍ، والفرق عن طريق عدمِ إجراءِ القاعدة ِالصرفيةِ في بنًى معينةٍ. كما عالج الفصل الرابع أثر علةِ الفرقِ في تصنيفِ الكلمةِ، وكيفية تأثير الفروق النحوية في إنشاء الأبواب النحوية، ووضْع التعريف لها. وقد تناول الفصل الخامس عدم جريان الباب النحوي على نظيره، والمسائل النحوية التى عُلّلت بعدم الجريان على النظير. ثم تلت الفصولَ المذكورةَ خاتمةٌ بأهمِّ نتائجِ البحث، وتوصياته، ثم اختُتمت الدراسة بالفهارس الفنية.

This thesis classified the differentiating causes into an Introduction, a Prelude and five chapters: In the prelude, the grammatical justification and types of justification, and condition for their correctness and it expanded to cover the cause of differentiating and grammarians’ handling. In chapter1, the thesis explored the varieties of inflections in the similar structures. For example, types of (L) and the A sound and A without a mark and the T of feminine and the difference between (Ana) and (Ana) and the section of present and confirming with (n) and the section of nouns and varieties of inflection showing how the varieties of inflection had the differentiating effect. In chapter2, the addition and omission and the addition with ending n and doubling and others as differentiating causes. It also discussed the additional letters that the grammatical thought resorted to cause the difference. As for the part of subtraction, the subtraction was discussed if having differentiating causes.In chapter3, it discussed the difference though ways of inflection and handled the difference through a rule of inflection and the difference by not operating the inflection rule in certain structures. In chapter4, it discussed the differentiating cause in the classification of the word and how the grammatical differences in forming the grammatical index and forming a definition for it. In chapter5, it discussed that the grammatical index is not applicable to its counterpart and the grammatical problems that was explained by not being applicable on their counter parts. Subsequent to the previous chapters, there is a conclusion with the outcomes of the thesis and it recommendation and concluded with the technical indexes.
