لطالما اهتم الأدباء بإلقاء الضوء على الثورات والأحداث الكبرى التي شهدتها مصر وتناولها في رواياتهم من خلال معالجة جوانبها المختلفة والمتعددة، كان الأديب نجيب محفوظ أحد هؤلاء الأدباء؛ حيث استعرض تلك الأحداث في عدد كبير من رواياته، لذا ركزت الدراسة على كيفية التصوير الأدبي لثورتي 1919م و1952م من خلال أمثلة مختارة من رواياته، وهي؛ الثلاثية والسمان والخريف وقشتمر، حاولت الدراسة توضيح اختلاف الأديب في المعالجة واستخدامه لأدوات معينة دون غيرها، لذلك، جاءت الدراسة في ثلاثة فصول، تناول الفصل الأول كيفية تصوير ثورة 1919م فنيا من خلال عدة عناصر: السرد والشخصيات والزمن والمكان والحوار والراوي وزاوية الرؤية والوظيفة بين الرواية والثورة التاريخية والواقعي والخيالي في الروايات، والفصل الثاني: يتناول كيفية تصوير ثورة 1952م فنيا ومن خلال نفس العناصر السابقة، والفصل الثالث: تعقد فيه مقارنة بين تصوير الثورتين فنيا ومن خلال نفس العناصر السابقة.
وقد اعتمدت الدراسة على نظرية العوالم الممكنة مع الاستعانة ببعض الأدوات النقدية التي ارتبطت ببعض نظريات النقد الأدبي الحديث مثل علم السرد.

Writers have always been interested in shedding light on the revolutions and major events that Egypt has witnessed, often portraying them in their novels through diverse and multifaceted approaches. The renowned writer Naguib Mahfouz was one of these authors, as he explored these events in many of his novels. Consequently, this study focuses on how the 1919 and 1952 revolutions were depicted in selected works of Mahfouz, such as The Cairo Trilogy, Autumn Quail, and Karnak Café. The study attempts to highlight the author’s distinct approach in handling these events and his selective use of literary tools. Therefore, the study is structured into three chapters. The first chapter addresses the artistic depiction of the 1919 revolution through several elements: narrative, characters, time, space, dialogue, narrator, perspective, and the function between the novel and historical revolution, as well as the real and fictional aspects within the novels. The second chapter explores the artistic depiction of the 1952 revolution using the same elements. The third chapter offers a comparative analysis of the artistic portrayal of both revolutions using these same elements.
The study is based on the theory of possible worlds, utilizing certain critical tools linked to modern literary criticism theories, such as narratology.
