Emotional Intelligence which is the capacity of to identify, comprehend
and regulate one’s own emotions and those others; it has been more and more
awarded with its effect as a critical contribution towards projects success.
Across construction projects management, emotional intelligence has been
proven as a substantial impact on the overall performance of project teams and
over the spectrum of management. Generally, it contributes to providing a
collaborative environment for construction project’s shareholders, efficient
work culture, smoother communication, and enhanced project success ratio
during projects lifecycle.
Emotional Intelligence implementation into organizations has rapidly
become an international sensation across all sectors, including construction
field in various countries for its rewarding benefits. Though in Saudi Arabia,
activation/implementation of emotional intelligence theories into the
managerial principles in construction projects have not been adopted with the
desired pace. This research aims to investigate the activation of emotional
intelligence theories into projects in the construction sector in Saudi Arabia,
focusing on its role in enhanced project management and projects success.
Within the construction projects industry, employers/employees are
moderately familiar with the broad concept of emotional intelligence, yet
professionals only seem to realize that bringing emotional intelligence
onboard is a key to a successful construction project management.
Theoretical analysis along with quantitative statistical approaches were
used to shed light on the perception of activating emotional intelligence within
the construction field; Stakeholders and professionals’ opinions were gathered
and analyzed via a distributed questionnaire across a specific population in the
Kingdome of Saudi Arabia. This took place in one of the leading pioneer
consultancy firms in the sector of construction and projects management.
Some key findings towards achieving a successful emotional intelligence
theories’ activation in construction projects management were discovered and
discussed. The findings indicate a moderate to high level of awareness of
emotional intelligence effectiveness on projects management enhancement
throughout projects lifecycle.

الذكاء العاطفي هو القدرة على التعرف وفهم وتنظيم مشاعر الفرد ومشاعر الآخرين. لقد تم تدشينه بشكل متزايد كإسهام حاسم نحو نجاح المشاريع. في إدارة مشاريع البناء، أثبت الذكاء العاطفي تأثيره الكبير على الأداء العام لفرق المشاريع وعلى نطاق الإدارة بشكل عام، حيث أنه يساهم في توفير بيئة تعاونية لأفراد مشاريع البناء، وثقافة عمل فعالة، وتواصل أكثر سلاسة، وزيادة نسبة نجاح المشاريع خلال دورة حياة المشاريع. أصبح تنفيذ الذكاء العاطفي في المنظمات بسرعة ظاهرة دولية عبر جميع القطاعات، بما في ذلك قطاع البناء والإنشاء في دول مختلفة، نظرًا لفوائده المجزية في جوانب متعددة من المشاريع. ومع ذلك، لم يتم تفعيل/تطبيق نظريات الذكاء العاطفي في المبادئ الإدارية في مشاريع البناء في المملكة العربية السعودية بالوتيرة المطلوبة.
يهدف هذا البحث إلى استقصاء تفعيل نظريات الذكاء العاطفي في المشاريع في قطاع البناء في المملكة العربية السعودية وإدارتها، مع التركيز على دورها في تحسين إدارة المشاريع ونجاحها. ضمن مراحل مشاريع البناء، فإن أصحاب العمل/الموظفين على دراية واسعة بمفهوم الذكاء العاطفي، إلا أن المحترفين يبدو أنهم يدركون فقط أن إدخال الذكاء العاطفي يعد مفتاحًا لنجاح إدارة مشاريع البناء ونتائج المشاريع. تم استخدام التحليل النظري/النظري جنبًا إلى جنب مع الأساليب الإحصائية الكمية لإلقاء الضوء على إدراك تفعيل الذكاء العاطفي داخل مجال البناء؛ حيث تم جمع آراء أصحاب المصلحة والمحترفين وتحليلها من خلال استبيان موزع على مجموعة محددة من المحترفين في المملكة العربية السعودية. وقد ت م ذلك في إحدى الشركات الاستشارية الرائد ة في قطاع البناء وإدارة المشاريع. مع كون هذه الشركة هي الحالة الدراسية الرئيسية لهذا البحث، تم اكتشاف ومناقشة بعض النتائج الرئيسية لتحقيق نجاح تفعيل نظريات الذكاء العاطفي في إدارة مشاريع البناء. تشير نتائج البحث إلى مستوى معتدل إلى مرتفع من الوعي بفعالية الذكاء العاطفي في تعزيز إدارة المشاريع طوال دورة حياة المشاريع.
