SUDs commonly co - occur in patients with MDD and BPD . This comorbidity affects the clinical course and prognosis of both disorders . The clinical courses of comorbid SUDs with either MDD or BPID were studied and compared in this study . A consecutive sample of 100 patients, 50 with MDD and 50 with BPID from a Governmental Hospital USE were examined and those with comorbid SUDs were further studied
