Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics Summary: Anemia is the commonest medical disorder to occur in pregnant women it's incidence being particularly high in many developing countries as in Egypt, in our retrospective study on 1000 pregnant females at time of delivery anemic females were 386 cases (38.6%). Maternal anemia remains contributing a major factor for maternal morbidity and mortality and it is also associated with bad perintal outcome espectally birth weight
