Fungal keratitis is a serious corneal fungal disease that may lead to loss of vision , if untreated . Terbinafine HCL is a synthetic antifungal drug which inhibits ergosterol synthesis and consequently causes fungal cell membrane lysis . To provide desired drug concentration in the site of absorption for longer period , controlled release formulations are desirable
