Retinoblastoma is the most common intra - ocular tumour of childhood . It was recognized more than a century ago to a heritable cancer . In early 1900s , Enucleation was the method of choice for its management . This was followed by radiotherapy since 1960s . Last decade showed fast advances in the field of chemotherapy , Radiotherapy and Genetics . This necessitated integrated management of the disease and collaboration between different teams
