Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Chemical Engineering
The fine waster resulying from grinding of kiln rollers was tested for chemical and mineralogical composition. It was gradually added to standard wall tiles mix in proportions ranging from 2% to 10%. The samples were pressed into slabs at 27 MPa, drying then firing at temperatures ranging from 1050 to 1150 {u00B0}C for up to 15 minutes. Their physico-mechanical properties were then investigated and results interpreted in the light of XRD and SEM findings. It was found that it is possible to add this waste at 1 or 2% level to wall tiles bodies without impairing its properties
