Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Veterinary Medicine - Department of Microbiology Summary: Out of 71 eggs collected from different sources and different origins, the incidence of salmonellae was in a percentage of 1.4%. Virulotyping analysis by PCR for 11 virulence genes (invA,avrA,mgtC,ssaQ,siiD,sopB,befC,spvC, sodC1 sopE1 and gipA) were done on Egg and human serovars (14), highest virulence genes recorded were : invA and siiD genes that were detected in a percentage of 100 % in each and avrA, ssaQ, mgtC, siiD and sopB that were detected in percentage of 89% and 100% respectively
