The aim of this work was to examine a possible association between subclinical hypothyroidism and microvascular complication in type 2 diabetic patients. A total of 100 type 2 diabetic Egyptian patients were randomly selected from our outpatient clinic and screened for thyroid function, microvascular and macrovascular complications. The patients were subsequently divided into two groups: subclinical hypothyroidism group (TSH {u2265} 3.5 oU / ml, n = 12), and euthyroid group TSH < 3.5 oU / ml, n = 88
