Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Veterinary Medicine - Department of Microbiology Summary: Three field and laboratory immunological diagnostic kits were developed to multiple detection of microbial causes bovine mastitis. Two lab diagnostic kits were double sandwich and Dot ELISA. While the third was field diagnostic kit thus lateral flow devices (LFD) were developed. The minimal microbial counts to be give positive of double sandwich ELISA, Dot ELISA and lateral flow device were (100CFU / 100æl), (1250CFU/ 100æl) and (100CFU/100 æl) respectively. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of double sandwich ELISA as compared to bacteriologically examination were calculated and was found to be 93.7%, 97.6% and 96%, respectively, for E. coli; 82.6%, 94.2% and 90.6% respectively, for S. aureus. It was 93.7 %, 98.3 % and 97.3%, respectively, for K. pneumoniae On the other hand the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of Dot ELISA as compared to bacteriologically examination were calculated and was found to be 93.7%, 97.6% and 96%, respectively for E. coli, 75%, 100% and 89.3%, respectively for S. aureus it was 69.5%, 96.1% and 88%, respectively for K. pneumoniae
