This research provide what key performance indicator is, how could you measure it and their importance in the practical field in general and particular in hospitals and the evolution of its concept indicators and are used as a measure results to achieve goals, and this development was the result of greater reliance on performance measurement significantly pointers after it became a pivotal strategic planning, considering that these indicators are the weights and measures that is supposed to be derived from the strategic objectives through the goals translation into programs, procedures and policies, and activities of the essence of measuring the effectiveness and efficiency in achieving the goals set for it.
