Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Institute of Statistical Studies and Research - Department of Statistical Quality Control and Quality Assurance Summary: Statistics is especially helpful for analysts, because it used to describe and judge quality of measurement. Classical statistical methods or approaches or criteria for judging fitness for purpose ( FFP ) of measurement process are applied on pharmaceutical , food and water case studies. These classical approaches are not suitable to judge FFP of Di Ammonium Phosphate fertilizer (DAP) measurements. Also these classical approaches are different in target and not connected, so measurement process may be FFP by an approach and not FFP by another and that will increase risk of taking correct decision. Objective of the thesis is optimization of classical statistical methods or approaches to judge FFP of DAP fertilizer measurements. Optimization includes three steps. The first step is choosing between various alternatives or classical approaches. The second step is adaptation of statistical methods to overcome on disadvantages of classical approaches .The third step is application of adapted approaches in reasonable way. After three steps of optimization we can take correct decisions and answer important question with assurance , do three measurement processes of DAP fertilizer are FFP ?. The thesis presents statistical and experimental solutions to achieve FFP of measurement process in case of not FFP.
