Successful internship programs should be those in which teaching and learning are provided to help the new graduate nurse making the transition from novice to advanced beginner who can demonstrate acceptable performance and cope in real situations. The internship year helps the interns to be competent and to master the nursing skills, clinical decision making, teaching, planning, communication, critical thinking, and caring attitude. Aim: Was to identify the nurse interns' perception about the effectiveness and relevancy of the internship program to their professional career. Subject and Methods: Data were collected from all nurse interns enrolled during internship program 2014-2015 at the Faculty of Nursing Cairo University. Design: A descriptive design was utilized. Tools: Two Questionnaires were utilized. One was used to collect the needed data pre and post the internship program. The second was used to collect the data pre and post each clinical training area throughout the program. Conclusion: the internship program was effective in achieving its objectives since the interns' expectations were met. Highly positive correlation was found among all dimensions. Recommendations: Clinical instructors should have courses in clinical teaching and student clinical evaluation, faculty teaching staff needs to have scheduled clinical teaching sessions, hospital staff should participate in the intern nurses{u201F} evaluation, designing clinical teaching activities for the interns in collaboration with the unit health team members
