A main use of phosphate minerals is in fertilizer as powder mineral, phosphoric acid or its compounds. Metallic species present in these phosphate rocks can be environmentally hazards, such as Ln(III) or U(VI) of economic values, such as the lanthanides. Removal of such metallic species is therefore required. Therefore, the present thesis is directed to remove such metallic species and assess their potential uses. Within this main aim, this work is directed to develop different ways to leach and extract some of these important metallic species from these phosphate rocks
