Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Neurosurgery Summary: This study was done prospectively to evaluate the outcome of the modalities of treatment used in cases of ruptured anterior communicating artery aneurysm 30 patients were classified into two groups equally according to the line of management done whether microsurgical clipping or endovascular coiling. Recurrence rate was high in the coiling group (20%) while mortality rate was higher in the clipping group (33.3%) compared to coiling group (6.7%), incidence of complications regarding hydrocephalus, hemiparesis and failed procedure were nearly the same with no statistical significance
