Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Physical Therapy - Department of Physical Therapy for Surgery Summary: Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the reliability, validity and internal consistency of the Arabic version of the abbreviated BSHS (BSHS-A) in assessment of quality of life (QOL) for post burn patients. Subjects and Methods: The (BSHS-A) questionnaire was translated into Arabic language, culturally adapted into Egyptian population. In order to test content validity 19 experts were included, then index of content validity (ICV) was calculated. For reliability, Pearson correlation was calculated for test- retest method applied for 50 post burn patients from both sexes with burn TBSA 20% or more and ages ranged from 20 to 40 years. Those patients were selected from Outpatient Physical Therapy Clinics of Different Hospitals, 47 from 50 patients completed the study. Cronbach{u2019}s alpha coefficient was calculated to test internal consistency. Results: The Arabic version of (BSHS-A) Cronbach{u2019}s coefficient was (0.8793) indicating good internal consistency. Test- retest by Pearson correlation was (0.8) indicating good stability of the scale. The ICV was (0.8). Conclusion: The Arabic version of BSHS-A is valid and reliable for use on Egyptian population. It is advised to be used in clinical practice as well as scientific researches. However, further studies are needed to decrease its length. The modified scale has been named BSHS-A-Ar
