Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Institute of African Research and Studies - Department of Natural Resources Summary: The present study was carried out at the experimental field station El-Salehia village at El-Qulybiya Governorate, Egypt, during two successive seasons ( 2014/2015 and 2015/2016). These studies were conducted to investigate the use of organic, mineral and nano fertilizers on some growth characteristics and yield of potato plants. These different sources of fertilizer in comparison with control ( without fertilization) were applied as,i.e. (100% organic fertilizer, 100% mineral fertilizer, 100% nano fertilizer, 50% mineral fertilizer + 50% organic fertilizer, 50% mineral fertilizer +50%nano- fertilizer and 50% organic fertilizer +50%nano- fertilizer). Results obtained revealed that plant height, leaf area, number of leaves and stems, fresh and dry weights of haulm as well as number of tubers, fresh and dry weights of tubers and their quality were highest with plants treated with 50% organic +50% nano-fertilizers in comparison with the other treatments which showed similar trends to number of tubers and tuber yield .Total cholorohyll, total carotenoids, total carbohydrates , dry matter content , starch and N, P , K and Ca contents in leaves significantly increased only with the mixed organic and nano- fertilizers, in both seasons. It could be concluded that the total yield and quality of testing potato plants application plants with 50% organic Plus 50%-nano- fertilizer gave the highest mean values for most parameters of the potato plant under study
