ملاحظة الأطروحة: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Anatomy ملخص: Background:The frontal sinus and frontal recess are one of the most challenging areas to approach in functional endoscopic sinus surgery.Frontal sinus dimensions show great concern to forensic researchers in personal identification as it was proven to be unique for each individual. This study aimed to provide better understanding of frontal sinus and frontal recess morphometry and anatomical variations of specific frontal recess cells and their prevalence among adult Egyptians. Methods:Ten dried adult human skulls were studied as well as coronal and sagittal CT scans of sixty adult persons of the Egyptian population (30 males and 30 females). Persons over 20 yearswere included and arranged in 3 age groups: group 1 from 20 to 30, group 2 from 31 to 50 and group 3 more than 50 years. Results: All dried skulls showed asymmetry between right and left frontal sinuses, intrasinus incomplete septations, interfrontal septum deviation, aggernasi cell and frontal cell type 2. Measurements on the CT scans revealed statistically significant higher height, depth and volume as well as anterior table thickness of all frontal sinuses among males than females
