Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Cardiology Summary: Introduction:National data focusing on the pattern of coronary catheterizations are lacking.This observational study is possibly the start of a national registration project; hoping for further implementation in Egyptian heart centres with our centre starting as the first benchmark.Aim:To establish a coronary catheterization procedures registry in order to provide the decision makers (the head of the unit, the head of the department, the hospital administration, and the health authorities) with the pattern of practice.Subjects and methods:This study was performed in the Cardiovascular Department of Cairo University Hospitals.Data were collected from a clinical and angiographic analysis of a sample of patients as well as reviewing the hospital records of the years 2016-2018 on a total of 3652 patients; prospectively on 513 consecutive patient undergoing coronary angiography procedures in 2018 in Cairo University Hospitals (Old KasrAlainy; n = 336 (65.4%) and New KasrAlainy ; n = 178 (34.6%) in the cardiovascular department catheterization laboratories and retrospectively on 3139 patients who underwent coronary cathetaterizations in the three-consecutive years: 2016-2018 were
