Pentas lanceolata, commonly known as 2Egyptian Star Cluster3 is an ornamental plant used in folk medicine. This study provided an insight into the nutritional composition and phytochemical constituents that may help in new therapeutic possibilities. The plant contains phenolics, flavonoids and anthraquinones that may serve as potential source of drug with biological significance. The in vitro cell tissue culture of P. Lanceolata and the regenerated plant are very efficient for the production of important groups of secondary metabolites that could be used as natural medicines. Isolation of five iridoid glucosides from the n-butanol fraction were made. Two of them were identified for the first-time. Antioxidants and immunomodulatory properties of the plant were studied
