This study included 40 cases of AML and MDS patients the prognostic importance of genetic events is mostly clearly demonstrated in the acute myeloid leukemias characterized by recurrent chromosome translocations : T (15 , 17) (q22 , q12) , T (8 , 21) (q22 , q22) and inv 16 (p13 , q22) which generally have a favorable prognosis when treated with a appropriate therapeutic agents
