A total of 470 , one day old Japanese quail chicks were individually weighed and allocated into 5 groups : control group , vanadyl sulphate (VS) group , vanadyl acetylacetonate (VA) group , live lactobacillus acidophilus (LL) group and heat killed lactobacillus acidophilus (LD) groupFor 10 weeks , VS and VA were supplemented in diet at a dose of 10 mg / kg basal ration , while LL and LD were supplemented in diet to give mean cell count 4x 106 / g basal rationResults revealed that dietary VS and VA increased significantly (p<005) live body weight during the first 4 weeks of age , and consequently dressing
