Methods: Twenty carious extracted primary molars were sectioned mesiodistaly forming two similar halves into forty sections. Each tooth was placed in a separate container with its 2 halves. Teeth were then randomly allocated either to the control or intervention group. In each tooth, the caries was excavated in each half. The control group received resin modified glass ionomer. The intervention group received silver diamine fluoride and potassium iodide followed by resin modified glass ionomer.
