<br/><br/> This dissertation investigates how ‘Human Rights Conditionality” has contributed to shaping the perceptions of Southern Mediterranean Countries towards the EU identity. The research examines the perception within the framework of associated concepts that have been forming the nexus between human rights in Southern-Mediterranean Countries and European Mediterranean cooperation The research centered its approach on a discourse analysis of two case studies: Egypt and Morocco analyzing official, elite, and public opinions towards EU approach within this field. The study finds that the repetitive language of EU bodies requesting the application of human rights conditionality on Southern Mediterranean Countries is negatively perceived by the latter  تبحث هذه الرسالة  تأثير لغة مشروطيه حقوق الإنسان الصادرة عن الاتحاد الأوروبي في تشكيل التصورات الخارجية لبلدان جنوب البحر الأبيض المتوسط تجاه هوية الاتحاد الأوروبي، وذلك من أجل سد فجوة تركت في الأدبيات والتي اقتصر تركيزها على مدى تطبيق الاتحاد الأوروبي لمشروطية حقوق الإنسان في معاملته مع الدول الجنوب المتوسط بغض النظر عن تأثير أبعادها الخارجية،، وقد خلصت الدراسة إلى أن اللغة المتكررة لهيئات الاتحاد الأوروبي التي تطلب تطبيق مشروطيه حقوق الإنسان تستقبل باستياء قبل بلدان جنوب البحر الأبيض المتوسط،  وينطر اليها على أنها نهجا اوروبي لفرض الهيمنة والسيطرة على التعاون بنصب الاتحاد الاوربي نفسه مشرفا على مسائل حقوق الإنسان. يصل التحليل إلى أن تصورات جنوب البحر الأبيض المتوسط لا تعتبر المشروطية دافعًا لتعزيز حقوق الإنسان كما يراه الاتحاد الأوروبي، يوصي البحث بإعادة النظر في استخدام لغة لمشروطية التي لوحظت انها لا تؤدي الا الي توسيع الفجوة وزيادة التصورات السلبية بين الشركاء في اقليم البحر الأبيض المتوسط.
