N2  - Hundred& two patients with post herpetic neuralgia. their ages ranged from (40-55) years. They were selected from Belbis Central Hospital divided randomly into two equal groups Group (A) composed of 51 patients who received micro current for 3 times per week for 4 weeks after rashes disappear in conjunction with medical treatment. Group (B)composed of 51 patients who received TENS 3 times per week for 4weeks after rashes disappear in conjunction with medical treatment. Pain was measured using color analog scale and serum cortisol level. Results: There was a significant decrease in color analog scale in group(B)who received TENS compared to that in group(A)who received Microcurrent by 66.74%  and there are significant improvement in serum cortisol level in group (B) who received TENS compared to that in group(A) who received micro current by 36.66%. Conclusion: TENS was more effective than micro current in treating patients with post herpetic neuralgia; الغرض من الدراسة الحالية كان لتقييم أيهما أكثر تأثيرا التنبيه الكهربائى الدقيق أم التنبيه الكهربائى العصبى عبر الجلد فى علاج آلام الحزام النارى .أجريت هذه الدراسة على مائة وأثنين مريض تراوحت أعمارهم مابين الأربعين والخمسة وخمسين عاما وتم إختيارهم من مستشفى بلبيس المركزى تم تقسيم المرضى بشكل عشوائى إلى مجموعتين متساويتين مجموعة(أ) تكونت من واحد وخمسين مريضا (	27 أنثى و24 ذكرا) تلقوا العلاج بإستخدام التنبيه الكهربائى الدقيق 3 مرات أسبوعيا لمدة 4 أسابيع بعد اختفاء الطفح الجلدى بجانب العلاج الدوائى ومجموعة(ب) تكونت من واحد وخمسين مريضا (26 أنثى و25 ذكرا) تلقوا العلاج باستخدام التنبيه الكهربائى العصبى عبر الجلد 3مرات أسبوعيا لمدة 4 أسابيع بعد اختفاء الطفح الجلدى بجانب العلاج الدوائى تم قياس شدة الألم لكلا المجموعتين قبل وبعد 4 أسابيع من خلال مقياس الألم بالألوان ومستوى الكورتيزول أظهرت النتائج إنخفاض فى مستوى الألم ومستوى الكورتيزول للمجموعة (ب) مقارنة بالمجموعة (أ) .
