Architectural and cultural heritage defines the culture and identity of each country and represents its biggest potential. However, the neglect, demolition, and lack of proper documentation of heritage sites threaten this invaluable resource. As recent development projects and urbanization accelerate, the risk of losing significant heritage buildings increases, making it crucial to prioritize documentation and preservation efforts. The study discusses the potentials and challenges of implementing Heritage Building Information Modeling (HBIM) technology in heritage documentation, suggesting a comprehensive workflow for its proper integration into heritage documentation practices in Egypt, fostering more successful and inclusive heritage conservation efforts. إن التراث المعماري والثقافي يحدد ثقافة وهوية كل بلد ويمثل أكبر إمكاناته. ومع ذلك، فإن الإهمال والهدم والافتقار إلى التوثيق المناسب للمواقع والمباني التراثية يهدد هذا المورد الثمين. ومع تسارع مشاريع التنمية المعمارية والعمرانية في الآونة الأخيرة، ازداد خطر فقدان تلك المباني وبالتالي ازدادت ضرورة إعطاء الأولوية لجهود التوثيق والحفاظ. تناقش الدراسة الإمكانيات والتحديات التي تواجه تطبيق تكنولوجيا نمذجة معلومات المباني التراثية (HBIM) في ممارسات الحفاظ المختلفة، مع تسليط الضوء على تطبيقاتها فيما يتعلق بتوثيق التراث المعماري واقتراح إطار شامل لدمجها بشكل سليم في ممارسات توثيق التراث في مصر، وذلك لضمان جهود أكثر نجاحا في مجال الحفاظ على التراث المعماري.
