This descriptive-analytical study aims to evaluate the psychological status of healthcare workers (HCWs) in Al-Hassa region, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) more than three years after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, it assesses the psychological preparedness of HCWs for future pandemics or crises based on the theoretical framework and research questions posed in the study. The researcher formulated two primary hypotheses and three sub-hypotheses to explore the relationship between the COVID-19 pandemic and the psychological well-being of healthcare workers. A questionnaire was administered to 376 participants from Ministry of Health (MOH) hospitals in the Al-Hassa region, including 10 hospitals and 87 primary health centers. The questionnaire was carefully designed based on a review of relevant literature, ensuring alignment with the study's variables. It comprised three main sections: Demographic Data: This section, containing four questions, collected basic demographic information about the healthcare workers. Psychological Status: This section, consisting of 21 questions, focused on assessing the psychological well-being of HCWs using the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS-21). Preparedness for Future Pandemics: This section contained four questions, which examined the expected response of HCWs to future pandemics. The collected data was electronically extracted, filtered, and organized to facilitate analysis. Statistical models that aligned with the study’s assumptions were used to derive meaningful insights. The findings revealed significant psychological distress among healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, 40.7% of HCWs experienced severe stress, 87.5% reported severe anxiety, and 41% suffered from severe depression. Despite these challenges, 87.2% of the healthcare workers expressed a willingness to work in the event of another pandemic, indicating a generally high level of psychological readiness to face future crises. تهدف هذه الدراسة الوصفية التحليلية إلى تقييم الحالة النفسية للعاملين في مجال الرعاية الصحية في منطقة الأحساء، المملكة العربية السعودية، بعد مرور أكثر من ثلاث سنوات على بداية جائحة كوفيد-19. كما تقوم بتقييم استعداد العاملين في الرعاية الصحية نفسياً لمواجهة الجائحات أو الأزمات المستقبلية استناداً إلى الإطار النظري والأسئلة البحثية المطروحة في الدراسة. وقد صاغ الباحث فرضيتين رئيسيتين وثلاث فرضيات فرعية لاستكشاف العلاقة بين جائحة كوفيد-19 والرفاه النفسي للعاملين في الرعاية الصحية. تم تنفيذ استبيان على 376 مشاركاً من مستشفيات وزارة الصحة في منطقة الأحساء، بما في ذلك 10 مستشفيات و87 مركزاً صحياً أولياً. تم تصميم الاستبيان بعناية استناداً إلى مراجعة الأدبيات ذات الصلة، مما يضمن توافقه مع متغيرات الدراسة. يتكون الاستبيان من ثلاثة أقسام رئيسية: البيانات الديموغرافية: يتضمن هذا القسم أربعة أسئلة لجمع المعلومات الديموغرافية الأساسية حول العاملين في مجال الرعاية الصحية. الحالة النفسية: يتكون هذا القسم من 21 سؤالاً ويركز على تقييم الرفاه النفسي للعاملين في الرعاية الصحية باستخدام مقياس الاكتئاب والقلق والإجهاد (DASS-21). الاستعداد للجائحات المستقبلية: يحتوي هذا القسم على أربعة أسئلة تهدف إلى دراسة استجابة العاملين في الرعاية الصحية المتوقعة للجائحات المستقبلية. تم استخراج البيانات المجمعة إلكترونياً وتنقيحها وتنظيمها لتسهيل التحليل. تم استخدام النماذج الإحصائية التي تتوافق مع افتراضات الدراسة لاستخلاص رؤى ذات مغزى. وقد كشفت النتائج عن معاناة العاملين في الرعاية الصحية من ضغوط نفسية كبيرة خلال جائحة كوفيد-19. على وجه التحديد، عانى 40.7% من العاملين من إجهاد شديد، و87.5% أبلغوا عن قلق شديد، و41% عانوا من اكتئاب شديد. على الرغم من هذه التحديات، أعرب 87.2% من العاملين في الرعاية الصحية عن استعدادهم للعمل في حال حدوث جائحة أخرى، مما يشير إلى مستوى عالٍ من الجاهزية النفسية لمواجهة الأزمات المستقبلية
