N2  - Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic disease that causes abnormal inflammations that mainly affect the joints as well as other organs like the eyes and the lungs. Although the exact cause of RA is unknown, RA is suspected to be the result of several environmental and genetic factors. In this thesis, a genome-wide association study was carried out with the sequence kernel association test on the North American Rheumatoid Arthritis Consortium (NARAC) dataset to identify both rare and common RA-related variants. The experimental results show good agreement between the identified variants and the ones reported in other studies; التهاب المفاصل الروماتويدي (RA) هو مرض مزمن يسبب التهابات غير طبيعية تؤثر بشكل رئيسي على المفاصل وكذلك الأعضاء الأخرى مثل العينين والرئتين. على الرغم من أن السبب الدقيق لالتهاب المفاصل الروماتويدي غير معروف، إلا أن التهاب المفاصل الروماتويدي يشتبه في أنه نتيجة لعدة عوامل بيئية ووراثية. في هذه الرسالة، تم إجراء دراسة ارتباط على مستوى الجينوم مع اختبار ارتباط نواة التسلسل على مجموعة بيانات اتحاد التهاب المفاصل الروماتويدي في أمريكا الشمالية (NARAC) لتحديد المتغيرات النادرة والشائعة المتعلقة بالتهاب المفاصل الروماتويدي. تظهر النتائج التجريبية توافقًا جيدًا بين المتغيرات التي تمّ التعرف عليها وتلك الواردة في دراسات أخرى
