<br/><br/> Aim: The aim of this study is to assess the accuracy of a recently developed laser fluorescence method "Kavo DIAGNOdent" in detecting occlusal enamel and dentinal caries in comparison with digital radiography using light microscope as gold standard.<br/> Methodology: 44 extracted teeth were scanned by Kavo DIAGNOdent and radiographed by digital radiography. Then buccoligual sections were obtained and examined under light microscope.<br/> Results: For all measurements, Kavo DIAGNOdent had significantly higher percentage of correct enamel and dentinal caries diagnoses and had significantly higher sensitivity and specificity values than digital radiography (p<0.05).<br/> Conclusion: According to the results of this study, Kavo DIAGNOdent is more accurate tool than digital radiography in occlusal caries detection.  الهدف من الدراسة: الهدف من هذه الدراسة هو تقييم إمكانية تكرار طريقة مضان الليزر المطورة حديثا "KaVo DIAGNOdent" في الكشف عن مينا الإطباق وتسوس الأسنان بالمقارنة مع التصوير الشعاعي الرقمي..<br/>الوسائل والطرق المستخدمة: تم فحص 44 سناً مقلوعة بواسطة Kavodiagnodent وتم تصويرها شعاعياً بواسطة التصوير الشعاعي الرقمي ثم الحصول على المقاطع الشدقية وفحصها تحت المجهر الضوئي..<br/>ملخص النتائج: بالنسبة لجميع القياسات، كان لدى KavoDiagnodent نسبة أعلى بكثير من التشخيص الصحيح لتسوس المينا والعاج وكان لديه قيم حساسية ونوعية أعلى بكثير من التصوير الشعاعي الرقمي (P <0.05)<br/>الاهداف الاولية والتوصيات: وفقا لنتائج هذه الدراسة، يعتبر Diagnodent أداة دقيقة في الكشف عن تسوس الإطباق ولكن يجب استخدامه وفقا لتعليمات الشركة المصنعة.
