This meta-analysis compared rigid hook plate (HP) fixation to flexible suspensory fixation (SF). SF demonstrated superior functional outcomes, less pain, higher patient satisfaction, and shorter hospital stays. While HP provided better initial anatomical reduction and lower re-dislocation rates, it had a significantly higher complication burden, including near-mandatory need for a second surgery to remove hardware. Consequently, SF emerges as the preferred first-line surgical option for most patients, prioritizing functional recovery and avoiding re-operation.
