N2  - This dissertation examines the ideological representation of refugees, asylum seekers, immigrants, and migrants (RASIM) in U.S. news media. Integrating Corpus Linguistics (CL), Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), and cognitive-linguistic frameworks, it analyzes how Fox News, The New York Times, and USA Today construct immigration discourse. A 156-million-word corpus from 2014–2019 was studied using Sketch Engine to identify collocational patterns, concordances, and force-dynamic conceptualizations. The study investigates semantic prosody, nomination, and predication strategies to reveal ideological stances. Findings show that media outlets differ in foregrounding, backgrounding, or excluding RASIM groups, reflecting political orientation and presidential transitions.
