N2  - In the age of the Anthropocene, capitalism, imperialism, and climate change, 
horticultural issues of gardening and greening become pressing matters. This dissertation aims 
to conduct a comparative study of the literary representations of gardens as counter-archival 
spaces in three contemporary novels, mainly Diane Wilson’s The Seed Keeper (2021), Elif 
Shafak’s The Island of Missing Trees (2021), and Francesca Momplaisir’s The Garden of 
Broken Things (2022). Utilizing a multidisciplinary comparative approach, the dissertation 
draws on theories of the archive in relation to feminist, spatial, and environmental theories to 
explore how the garden represents a decolonial, political space, intrinsically intertwined with 
memory, history, identity, and power structures. It argues that, in the Anthropocene, the 
gardenscapes of gendered and political conflict emerge as sites of feminist and ecological 
resistance that unravel and navigate historical conflicts and identitarian issues.; في عصر الأنثروبوسين، وفي ظل والرأسمالية والإمبريالية وتغير المناخ، أصبحت قضايا البستنة والتخضير مسائل ملحة. تهدف الرسالة إلى إجراء دراسة مقارنة للتمثيلات الأدبية للحدائق بوصفها مساحات أرشيفية نسوية مضادة في ثلاث روايات معاصرة من ثقافات مختلفة، وهم: حارس البذور (2021) للمؤلفة الأمريكية من السكان الأصليين ديان ويلسون وجزيرة الأشجار المفقودة (2021) للروائية التركية البريطانية إليف شفق وحديقة الأشياء المحطمة (2022) للكاتبة الهايتية فرانشيسكامومبليسير. باستخدام نهج مقارن متعدد التخصصات، تعتمد الرسالة على نظريات الأرشيف بالإضافة إلى نظريات النسوية والمكان والبيئة لدراسة تمثيل الحديقة بوصفها مكانديكولونياليسياسي يتشابك مع هياكل الذاكرة والتاريخ والهوية والسلطة وكيف تتعامل الشخصيات النسائية في هذه الروايات المختارة مع واقعها الجندريمن خلال الحديقة. تكشف الدراسة أن في عصر الأنثروبوسين، تظهر الحدائق كمساحات للمقاومة النسوية والبيئية ومواجهة الصراعات التاريخية ومناقشة قضايا الهوية
