يعد قطاع اللحوم الحمراء أحد الأنشطة الإنتاجية الزراعية الهامة في مصر، حيث تعد من المصادر الرئيسة للدخل الزراعي، ومصدراً رئيساً من مصادر البروتين الحيواني اللازم لتغذية السكان. ويشكل إنتاج اللحوم الحمراء أهمية خاصة في مصر؛ حيث يعد مصدر دخل للكثير من الأسر في الريف والحضر، ومصدراً أساسياً لاحتياجات الأسرة من البروتين الحيواني، ويدخل القطاع ضمن المجالات الاستثمارية المتميزة على النطاق التجاري .وتتمثل مشكلة الدراسة الرئيسية في عجز الطاقة الإنتاجية عن الوفاء بالاحتياجات الاستهلاكية المتزايدة من اللحوم الحمراء حيث تبلغ كمية الاستهلاك نحو 1.098 مليون طن من اللحوم الحمراء في الوقت الذي تقدر فيه الكمية المنتجة بنحو 0.612 مليون طن عام 2022، مما أدى إلى وجود فجوة بين الإنتاج والاستهلاك تقدر بنحو 0.486 مليون طن عام 2022 كما تبين أن اكثر المتغيرات تأثيراً علي الكمية التقديرية لإنتاج اللحوم الحمراء بالألف طن هو كمية البرسيم المستديم والتحريش بالألف طن ، وكمية كسب وبقايا الصويا بالألف طن ، وسعر الطن المستورد من اللحوم كما يتبين أن القيمة المضافة المقابلة من إنتاج طن اللحوم الحمراء جاموسي عبر الحلقات الأربعة بلغت نحو 246135 جنيه تساهم حلقة تصنيع العلف في القيمة المضافة بنحو 3444 جنيه وبنسبة 1.4%، وتساهم حلقة مربي العجول بنحو 10623 جنيه وبنسبة 4.3% ، وتساهم حلقة المسمنين بنحو 79043 جنيه وبنسبة 32.1% وتساهم حلقة الجزارة بنحو 153025 جنيه وبنسبة 62.2% . The red meat sector is one of the important agricultural production activities in Egypt, as it is one of the main sources of agricultural income, and a major source of animal protein needed to feed the population. Red meat production is of particular importance in Egypt; as it is a source of income for many families in rural and urban areas, and a primary source of family needs for animal protein, and the sector is one of the distinguished investment fields on an intensive commercial scale. The main problem of the study is the inability of production capacity to meet the increasing consumer needs of red meat, as the amount of consumption amounts to about 1.098 million tons of red meat, while the amount produced is estimated at about 0.612 million tons in 2022, which led to a gap between production and consumption estimated at about 0.486 million tons in 2022, so the study was interested in identifying the most important factors affecting red meat production in order to reduce the food gap from it. The main objective of the study is to study the most important factors affecting the amount of animal production of red meat in order to provide recommendations to decision-makers and pay attention to the most important factors to raise the value of animal production so that it is a strong push for economic growth. It is clear that the total profit resulting from the production of a ton of buffalo red meat is about 239,756 pounds, of which the feed manufacturing ring receives 3,151 pounds, representing 1.3%, the calf breeders ring receives 12,755 pounds, representing 5.3%, the calf fattening ring receives 76,310 pounds, representing 31.8%, and the butcher ring receives 147,540 pounds, representing 61.5%. It is also clear from the table that the corresponding added value from the production of a ton of buffalo red meat through the four rings amounted to about 246,135 pounds, of which the feed manufacturing ring contributes about 3,444 pounds, representing 1.4%, the calf breeders ring contributes about 10,623 pounds, representing 4.3%, the fatteners ring contributes about 79,043 pounds, representing 32.1%, and the butcher ring contributes about 153,025 pounds, representing 62.2%.
