    <subfield code="a">Self-Centering Steel Plate Shear Walls (SC-SPSWs) are used to guarantee the
immediate occupancy of structures after strong earthquakes with the least possible
amount of repair. The SC-SPSW is an integration of two distinct structural systems:
(1) SPSW and (2) PT rocking steel moment connections. The SC-SPSW is an
economic and strong structural system that localizes the damage due to moderate or
severe earthquakes in the steel web plates mostly, which can be easily replaced. This
study is concerned with investigating the seismic performance of SC-SPSWs with
different panel aspect ratios (height-to-length ratios) 0.66, 1, and 1.31. The SC-SPSW
prototype buildings used in the parametric study were built according to a
performance-based seismic design approach. A framework comprising the graphicaluser-interface software OPENSEES Navigator and the finite element software
OPENSEES was used for building numerical models incorporating geometric and
material nonlinearities for the SC-SPSWs. The seismic performance of the SC-SPSW
prototypes was evaluated through conducting extensive nonlinear time history
analyses. The compliance of the SC-SPSW prototypes with the PBSD approach was
assessed under earthquakes with 50%, 10%, and 2% probabilities of exceedance in 50
