<br/><br/> Over the past decades refractive surgery has become a very important branch of ophthalmology.LASIK has become the main surgical modality for correction of myopia and hypermetropia.However in extreme degres of spherical errors or in cases of thin cornea where LASIK is contraindicated toric phakic intraocular lenses have emerged as an exciting option for treatment of visully signficant astigmatism in phakic patients as they offer the advantages of single procedure familiar surgical technique ability to correct higher levels of astigmatism predictability and stability
