<br/><br/> A survey covering the methods used for the synthesis of thienopyridine derivatives in addition to their reactions is illustrated . Abrief outline on their medical importance is also given . This thesis involves the preparation of the starting compounds 2- amino - 3- cyanothiophene derivatives a-c (scheme 1) . cyclodehydration reaction between the aminocyanothiophenes and the appropriate cyclanone was achieved by using two methods to obtain thienopyridine derivatives a-c, IVa-c, a-c, I,  and IX(scheme 2- 4)
