<br/><br/> The levels of DA , NE and 5-HT in different brain regions as well as blood plasma , cardiac muscle and adrenal gland of young and adult male albino rats were measured following experimentally induced hypo-or hyperthyroidism . In all tissues examined hyperthyroidism induced by daily oral administration of PTU for 28 consecutive days caused a significant reduction in monoamines content in both young and adult rats
