<br/><br/> Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are a major co - morbidity in COPD and probably both the most frequent and most important disease coexisting with COPD . The aim of our study is to assess the left and right ventricular systolic and diastolic functions in COPD patients using the conventional echocardiographic parameters and tissue Dopller imaging , to correlate the left ventricular diastolic function with the resting heart rate and to correlate the left and right ventricular systolic and diastolic functions with the severity of the COPD
