Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by extracellular deposition of aggregated Ý amyloid protein (AÝ). Recently, correlation between nicotinic reseptors (nACHRs) dysfunction, neurodegeneration and cognitive deficits was shown in AD. nACHRs have protective role against AÝ toxicity while chronic inflammation damages cholinergic neurons and contributes to neurodegeneration
