Mycosis fungoides (MF) is the most common type of cutaneous T {u2013}cell lymphomas (CTCLs). Forkhead box P3 (FOXP3) is the specific marker of regulatory T cells (Tregs) and transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-Ý1) is their sword cytokine. Studies about involvement of Tregs in MF are controversial. Dysregulation in TGF- Ý1 signaling pathways has been linked to various cancers. Aim of study: To add more insight to the role played by Tregs in MF, by studying the gene expression of FOXP3 and TGF-Ý1 in the blood of MF patients. It also aimed to analyze the relationship between TGF-Ý1gene polymorphism and susceptibility of MF in a sample of Egyptian MF patients. Patients and methods: This case control study included 55 MF patients and 100 controls examined for TGF-Ý1 gene polymorphism by PCR-RFLP. Gene expression of FOXP3 and TGF- Ý1 in the blood of 25 patients and 25 controls was assessed by real time PCR UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
