<br/><br/> Colorectal cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer death in both developed and developing nations. It is the third most common type of cancer worldwide. Evaluation of the immunohistochemical expression of galectin-3 in cases of colorectal carcinoma and correlation between galectin-3 expression and other clinical and pathological features. The current study included sixty cases of colorectal carcinomas collected from the pathology department, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University during the period from January 2011 till March 2013, studied histologically and immunohistochemically for galectin-3 expression. -Galectin-3 expression was positive in 81.7% of total colorectal carcinoma studied cases
