An accident analysis of the unprotected LOFA in a typical MTR reactor is conducted. The flow rate is considered to decay exponentially with time constant of 25 s according to experimental records. The new reduced flow G/Go= 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, and complete pump failure flow level were modeled. The flow instability ratio for the case of complete pump failure is less than one, hence, inception of flow instability is predicted. In contrast, in cases of G/G = 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, and 0.8 the flow instability ratio is more than one and consequently no exceed of design limits in term of thermal hydraulic instability and DNB is observed thus, stability is maintained throughout the transient and a new equilibrium state is ultimately established. However the clad corrosion resistance and water chemistry will exceed the design limit
