Tomato leaves infested by T. absoluta examined under a binocular in order to differentiate the different immature and adult stages by using a micrometer lens. Field trials were carried out in 2012 and 2013 growing seasons to evaluate the efficacy of five pesticides against larvae of T. absoluta infesting tomato plants in Fayoum and Giza Governorates. The tested insecticides can be arranged descendingly as Coragen, Evisect, Proclaim , Challenger , Avaunt, Radiant and Tracer according to their efficacy against T. absoluta larvae after ten days of application.Tomato samples were randomly collected to determine their residues at 0, 1, 3, 7, 10 and 15 days after spraying together with equal untreated samples
