This is a retrospective cohort study. Meticulous review was done for all medical records of primary colorectal cancer patients underwent treatment at the national cancer institute, Cairo University during 2007 - 2008 year. Median age at diagnosis was 47.5 years and range from 13 to 83years. Very young patients with age (< 35 years) were 19.9%, youngage (35 - < 45years) 22.0%, middle aged (45 - < 65 years) 43.0% and old age ({u2265} 65 years) were 15.1%. Age of colon cancer patients was 48.36 ± 14.85 years and of rectal cancer was a 46.90 ± 14.58 years. Bleeding per rectum is the commonest presentation (37%) and most of patients have resectable tumors (51.4%).Rectal tumors constituted 55.6% of cases, and colon 44.4%. Pathology was available for 462 cases, of them 76.6% was non - mucin secreting adenocarcinomas, moderately differentiated (grade II) CRC was the most common type accounting for 78.5% of cases UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
